Tribe A Connecticut progressive hard rock band Tribe was first formed in the spring of 1986 and ran through to 1989. Merged by former members of the High Ridge Crew and Salem's Cross, Bassist /song writer Paul Wise along with Guitarist Chris Gray merged with founding member Eddi Wheels and Drummer Brett Gray (Chris' brother) to form the newly progressive band along with guitarist Chris Maeselek who quickly quit the three guitar line-up to form his own personal band, leaving them with Eddi and Chris as a dual guitarist in the band. The newly formed band under the same name High Ridge Crew played local pubs and parties trying to identify their new sound. Due to uncertain unseen circumstances guitarist Chris Gray left the band in 1987 leaving a gap for them to fill. It wasn't until they recruited guitarist Matt Moran from the local circuit that they started to find their unique place and sound. Still they were without a lead vocalist. While practicing at Don Stohl's rehearsal studio in Norwalk, they came across renown Heavy Metal singer Jay Stevens who quickly joined the band upon hearing their diverse progressive nature from song writer's Wise & Wheels. They started gigging the area opening up for national acts like Liege Lord. The rest is Progressive Heavy Metal history! Featuring the hits from their first album, Days of Old "Twilight Soldier", "Tribe", "Blood Coup" & "Black Water, Crystal Ice."
